Saturday mornings, are probably my favorite mornings by far! Well to start off, who doesn’t enjoy waking up on a Saturday morning? My husband is very fortunate to have the weekend off, so Saturday and Sunday’s have become our favorite days of the week, some people might have days off during the week so Saturday and Sunday are just another typical work day for them.
Our 1 year old daughter has been very kind to us and wakes up around 9:30am/10am (lucky? I know!) I try not to let her sleep in that long during the week because by the time she wakes up I feel like half our morning has gone to waste and her schedule gets thrown off. But when her daddy wants to “sleep in” we don’t mind getting those extra hours of sleep. This weekend we had absolutely NO PLANS (what a shocker!) the past few weekends have been very hectic for us, we had our daughter’s first birthday, then we had my sister’s sweet 16! We were pretty drained out because Anaís doesn’t enjoy sleeping anywhere other then her crib, so being out of town and sleeping at our families house has been pretty rough on us and her.
We pretty much went with the flow this weekend, and we couldn’t have been more happier. The weather has been warm enough here in Oceanside to take Anaís to the swimming pool in the apartments. We were so scared of how she might react to the water, but we were so lucky that she absolutely LOVED it. She loved it so much, when we got out she kept pointing back to the water because she wanted to go back in. We did buy her a “Girls Toy Baby Boat” and it was a HUGE help, because it allowed her to just float and lay in it with some toys that it came with (I highly recommend it!) So down below I will give you a brief timeline of how our day went 🙂
We went ahead and started to cook “brunch” around 11:15 (almost lunch time but oh well haha). Pancakes came out a little burnt but that’s okay, we still ate it 😉 And while we were cooking Anaís was enjoying some “Word Party” and waiting patiently for breakfast to be done!
Around 1pm we decided to bring Anaís to our little park in front of our house so she could enjoy some sun. Daddy in the background trying to get into the picture like always.
This was the
highlight of our perfect Saturday! Taking our daughter to the swimming pool for the first time! She had such a blast in her “Girls Toy Boat” from Walmart, it was so convenient for us because we didn’t have to hold her the entire time and the little shade on top made us worry less about the sun being too strong for her baby skin. If it’s your babies first time in the pool, I highly recommend this! It was super cheap, and was ready for same-day pick up at Walmart!! (not sponsored)
Overall, I decided to make this blog because having fun doesn’t always mean getting dressed up and doing something expensive, for us; staying in our pj’s and getting some sun made our Saturday absolutely perfect, and the fact that we didn’t have to “plan” our day, made it better.
